A Spanish classic with a Sonoma twist, this Rioja-born varietal thrives in the cold nights and warm days of Russian River Valley. The nose is earthy and gamey, but let it open up, and delicate floral notes emerge. On the palate, it’s lush and supple, with big, juicy berry flavors and a smooth, balanced mouthfeel. This was harvested late to maximize ripeness and concentration. Tempranillo grapes have larger berries hence a lower skin-to-juice ratio, resulting in softer tannins and a more approachable style. A hint of floral elegance lingers on the finish. As Jeffrey put it, “This is pretty delicious!”
